Our Leaf-Peeper Adventure

Nina and Momma put our big dog beds and cozy blankies in the back seat and we went for a long drive up through "The Park".... the park ???
There was no park- at least not for us.... all we saw were trees.  Sigh.

I heard Nina say "Algonquin Park" and I thought we'd be going on a "big dog walk"... but we didn't.

This is me wondering where the park was.....

It was nice to be with  my family, but I really wanted to go to the park.  We got out a few times to do our business but Momma was looking for  a moose.  Moose? Really?

We did get extra treats, and cheese curds.  I LOVE cheese.  I think it must be my favourite thing of all.

Here is where we left a deposit.... well, we didn't really leave it... Nina picked it up in a bag and we brought it home.  That seems silly to me.  I made a big effort and she brought it?  How does that make any sense?

And this is what I could see out the window.... trees.  We have trees at home.  Nice trees.

But Momma and Nina kept going "ooh" and "aaaahhh" ... a new song? Hmmm.

And so our adventure that took all day, ended up at home.  We doggies were exhausted from all that  napping. whew!
But I love being with  my family and if that is where they go, that is where I go.

Leaf-peeping, who knew?

My new pea-pee path....

Hi, it's me Lucy again.  Not much new till now - I've been busy checking out the neighbourhoods squirrels and cats.  Seems the cats are not that friendly but I don't know why.  Perhaps I don't understand their language... that s-s-s-sss does not make sense.

But enough of the cat talk.  I have news.

As you may have seen, I am close to the ground and when I go out to do my business, I hate it when the grass tickles my bits.  So I go next door to J's driveway 'cause it is all little stones... pea gravel, they say.

And when it is dark, I scoot over there quick as a bunny before my Nina can catch me.... I leave my deposit on the gravel.

So, enough of that says Nina....  you have already made short work of the grass all winter, you need your own pee-path.

Here I am on my way back from next door - as you can see, I am going around  my own garden 'cause it is yukky.

Nina and Auntie Jen cut some lines in the garden.  Looks okay to me, but now what?

See how Tessa and I made a mess of the lawn?  It's all brown from the long winter's business.

There was a lot of grunting and groaning - I guess it was hard work. Me? I was busy with my napping.

Now look !  I have my own pea-gravel, pee path... and if you look really close, you can see my first deposit - right in the middle... I am very small, so is  my deposit, but Nina was clapping for me ! and gave me an extra treat for doing my business on the pea-pee path....

No more forays to the drive-way next door.... I have my own.  yee haw....

My job....

My Nina has the flu.

So my job is to sit with her in the big yellow chair by the window and snooze with her.

So no more posts for a day or two.

We and Uncle "T"

I forgot to tell you.  My Uncle T came for Christmas and he took us all for a walk.  Me, Tessa, Harriett and Theo.

But it was too cold and our feet froze and he had to take turns carrying me and Harriett.  The other two were just being goofy.

This is us on Christmas day.

See? Harriett is headed home already.

No wonder our feet were icy, just look at this !!

I'm getting Nina to call Jimmy Choo for some new boots... my paws are cold.

Time for extra treats and a nap.
Hey, it's me Lucy again.  I've been too busy to write.  Naps, mostly - too danged cold, says Nina.  She is right 'cause the snow freezes between my toes and I cannot hold two paws up at the same time.

Got the cuteness down pat though... one sad look and Nina will carry me for a bit.

Here I am in my new coat she made.  She tells us that the inside is cat-shmere.  I like cats - so what did she do with the cat?  Oh dear...Not sure what that is, but it is warm and cozy.  I saw her cutting up some sweaters when she made our coats.  I pretended I was napping in the big yellow chair but I was watching.  She sighed a lot....

I have a cat-shmere collar and lining.. and a snappy blue "fleas" on the outside. Fleas?? no way.... well, I am warm and cozy, "fleas" or not... and it has a butterfly too and a little 'grinchy' pocket - whatever that is...

I LOVE  my new coat, it's not stiff like my old one. I think I look adorable..

Here is Tessa in hers.  There was a lot more sighing and a lot more sweaters cut up to make one so big, but she looks pretty good, too.

We are getting ready to go walking with our friends... to the park...

so, later....
